We Help Retirees and Professionals Regain Clarity and Confidence Through Our Three-Pillar Hearing Care Approach in Canterbury.

Here's what we usually get asked
Your appointment includes a relaxed discussion of what you're experiencing, an ear health check, a comprehensive hearing assessment, and a clear explanation of your results. You'll leave with personalised recommendations — and no obligation to buy anything.
No. Our job is to give you clear information and honest recommendations based on your needs and goals — not to sell you a device. Some clients start with monitoring or auditory training and consider technology later, or not at all. You're never pushed.
Yes. Most past disappointments come down to rushed fittings, little follow-up, and no listening support — just more volume. With precise programming, ongoing fine-tuning, and auditory training, many clients who'd written off hearing aids get a very different result.
Every person's hearing is different, so outcomes depend on more than the device. We start with a thorough assessment and precise fitting, add auditory training where it helps your brain process speech and refine everything through structured follow-up based on how you're hearing in real life. It's built to adapt to you, not the other way around.
Most clinics fit a device and send you on your way. We work on three things that decide whether you actually hear better in real life:
Ears — best-practice audiology for accurate diagnosis and fitting.
Brain — auditory training that sharpens how you process speech and listening.
Aftercare — structured follow-up so your results keep improving over time.
It's a structured program that trains your brain to make sense of speech in the real world — not just hear it louder. Research shows it can improve understanding in background noise by at least 25%, with measurable results in as little as 4 weeks, and better outcomes than hearing aids alone. It's especially useful if you can hear people but don't always understand them, struggle in noisy rooms, or feel mentally drained after conversations.
There's more to it. Hearing depends on both your ears' sensitivity and how your brain processes sound. Even when speech is amplified, clarity can stay difficult — which is why we treat both the ears and the brain, not just the volume.
Most clinics make you wait 1–2 weeks for a fitting. We can usually assess and treat on the same day — including fitting hearing aids and starting auditory training where appropriate — so most clients walk out hearing better the same afternoon.
Most people adjust over a few weeks to a few months. Consistent use, structured follow-up, and targeted auditory training make the adjustment smoother and faster.
Not all hearing care is the same. Price reflects the depth of the assessment, how personalised the fitting is, and how much ongoing support you get. Our focus is long-term outcomes — comprehensive evaluation, precise programming, and support like auditory training — rather than a quick, transactional sale.
If you're on the pension, you may be entitled to a government subsidy for hearing services. This can go towards a fully funded hearing device (no out-of-pocket cost) or better technology at a subsidised price. We'll check your eligibility for you.

You avoid noisy restaurants because it’s exhausting to keep up. You nod along in conversations, hoping you didn’t mishear something important. You feel embarrassed asking people to repeat themselves — again and again. Deep down, you just want to enjoy family dinners, follow conversations clearly in background noise, and feel confident and present instead of withdrawn.

You’ve started relying on subtitles, speakerphone, or others to fill in what was said. You worry that missing parts of conversations makes you seem distracted — or worse, declining. You don’t like the idea that your hearing isn’t keeping up with you. You want your hearing to match your intellect, stay independent and capable, and feel confident you’re being proactive about your long-term quality of life.

You’ve tried hearing aids before and they didn’t deliver clarity — just more volume. They didn’t live up to expectations, and now you’re sceptical about wasting money again. You don’t want another device sitting in a drawer. You want precision, not guesswork — a structured approach that protects your investment and delivers real outcomes, not another sales transaction.

Ready to get started?
Hey, I'm Weicen Yan, the founder of NeuroHearing. I started NeuroHearing after years of working for the largest audiology chains. Over time, I saw a gap in the market: clients were spending thousands on hearing treatment, only to give up after a few months. By our standards, that's unacceptable.
So in 2025 I set out to deliver top-quality, lasting care for the people who need it. Through our three-pillar process — Ears, Brain, and Aftercare — we've done exactly that, and earned several industry awards along the way, including APAC Insider's Most Trusted New Independent Hearing Clinic 2026.
